Pentagon tried to build a "GAY" bomb

Pentagon Confirms It Sought To Build A 'Gay Bomb'
Hank Plante Reporting
(CBS 5) BERKELEY A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.
Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS 5 that military leaders had considered, and then subsquently rejected, building the so-called "Gay Bomb." Edward Hammond, of Berkeley's Sunshine Project, had used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain a copy of the proposal from the Air Force's Wright Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio. As part of a military effort to develop non-lethal weapons, the proposal suggested, "One distasteful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior." The documents show the Air Force lab asked for $7.5 million to develop such a chemical weapon. "The Ohio Air Force lab proposed that a bomb be developed that contained a chemical that would cause enemy soldiers to become gay, and to have their units break down because all their soldiers became irresistably attractive to one another," Hammond said after reviewing the documents. "The notion was that a chemical that would probably be pleasant in the human body in low quantities could be identified, and by virtue of either breathing or having their skin exposed to this chemical, the notion was that soliders would become gay," explained Hammond. The Pentagon told CBS 5 that the proposal was made by the Air Force in 1994. "The Department of Defense is committed to identifying, researching and developing non-lethal weapons that will support our men and women in uniform," said a DOD spokesperson, who indicated that the "gay bomb" idea was quickly dismissed. However, Hammond said the government records he obtained suggest the military gave the plan much stronger consideration than it has acknowledged. "The truth of the matter is it would have never come to my attention if it was dismissed at the time it was proposed," he said. "In fact, the Pentagon has used it repeatedly and subsequently in an effort to promote non-lethal weapons, and in fact they submitted it to the highest scientific review body in the country for them to consider." Military officials insisted Friday to CBS 5 that they are not currently working on any such idea and that the past plan was abandoned. Gay community leaders in California said Friday that they found the notion of a "gay bomb" both offensive and almost laughable at the same time. "Throughout history we have had so many brave men and women who are gay and lesbian serving the military with distinction," said Geoff Kors of Equality California. "So, it's just offensive that they think by turning people gay that the other military would be incapable of doing their job. And its absurd because there's so much medical data that shows that sexual orientation is immutable and cannot be changed."
LOL this is the best one I heard in a while LOL gee it sounds like news from the Daily Show LOL what is general Dick Head thinking??? And them morons have billions, what am I saying TRILLIONS of $$ to play with!! has to make you sick !!!

Pissed On Politics

Great blog !!!! check it out
April 21, 2007 A Conspiracy Wingnuts Can Support Multi Medium reports via Atrios and Glenn Greenwald on an article written by long time NeoCon Champion Melanie Phillips titled ‘I found Saddam’s WMD bunkers’ The wingnuts are going apeshit over this new found "proof" of Saddam's "massive stockpiles of wmd". I'm really not sure what the point is. I think the wingnuts suppose this would help justify the last 4 years of meaningless death and carnage while our treasury was simultaneously drained. The conspiracy theory basically goes like this: The CIA found vast underground bunkers of WMD chuck full of chemical and biological weapons along with the material to make a nuclear bomb. And then somehow in the middle of the night Iraqis, Syrians, and Russians (that's right, I said Russians) moved ALL the WMD over the border into Syria. And now Syria (closely aligned with Iran ofcourse) is shipping those WMD to Iran.

Thailand rejects US military offer to help end south unrest

Thailand rejected on Friday a US offer of military assistance to help quell an insurgency in the country’s Muslim-majority south, saying the unrest was an internal matter. The United States, a close ally of Thailand, has reportedly offered to help the kingdom rein in the unrest, which has killed more than 2,100 people since January 2004.

How can they pass an offer like that??? LOL we all saw how good of a job the Yanks have done at stopping violence in Iraq, and other places ... like their own universities, high school and neigborhoods!!!!!!!!

Muang Boran Journal

http://www.muangboranjournal.com/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=6
interesting publication on Thai art and culture in our modern days
thank god its translated into English too!!!!!
The operation of Muang Boran Journal for the past 30 years has been quite the opposite with the research, collection and report of data and evidence in the form of art, culture, history and archaeological sites that are in the process of disappearing and changing. Also, there is the coordination of problem solving and presentation of local knowledge in order that interested persons and young people will learn. The birth of Muang Boran Journal is related to Muang Boran [The Ancient City] in Samut Prakan that was built by Khun Lek Viriyapan (1914 – 2000). To construct Muang Boran Khun Lek had to go and study the evidence himself at historical, cultural and archaeological sites throughout various regions all over the Kingdom. When he saw information and evidence regarding historical and archaeological sites that were disappearing due to modern development, Khun Lek sent in a team of experts to inspect and do research and publish the results in Muang Boran Journal. Another important person from that time was the late Ajarn Prayura Uluchada or No Na Pak Nam (1928 – 2000) who wrote, researched and took photographs of art and architecture along with the cultural surroundings and the people in the regions.

A Cry from the Upstream

Fantastic story about Sam Ngao/Ban Na district and the unfair treatment of locals when the Yanhee dam construction happennned in the 60ies
Check the link for more pictures of days gone by in Thailand
A Cry from the Upstream Suddan Wisudthiluck Despite being a small community, Ban Na has its long history back to at least the 18th century. Located on the west bank of Ping River, Ban Na once served as a popular place for stopover and was usually mentioned in the old records of both western and native travelers. Between the 19th to the 20th centuries, westerners travelling along the Ping River always put the location of Ban Na in their maps or reports, some of which discussed the contact between Ban Na and Moulmein in Myanmar. In Thai records, the procession of H.R.H. Princess Dara Rasmi of Chiang Mai, a consort of King Rama V, once made a stop at Ban Na in 1908. Thirteen years later, H.R.H. Prince Damrong on his back trip from Chiang Mai also took a rest there. However, in the 1960s, the long existence of Ban Na had come to an end as a result of the government's decision to build the Yanhee Dam across the Ping River in Sam Ngao District, Tak Province. With the Dam gradually taking shape, vast areas from Sam Ngao District in Tak up to Hod District in Chiang Mai were being submerged under water. And even though official documents have recorded fair compensation given to land owners in Ban Na, personal memoirs of Pramoj Malathong (1918-1980) speak otherwise. In his writings, Pramoj recounts in great details about a solitary struggle the villagers had made as well as a number of pains and miseries they had suffered from self-help evacuation, theft and robbery, unfair compensation, officials' ignorance and cheating, etc. Despite his death in 1980, Pramoj's memoirs have only recently been revealed. Once it is out on the market, more and more people have begun to realize the alarming fact that it takes over 20 years before a cry of this ordinary soul could be heard in public!

With a dark, primitive and raw sound, they've been described as a cross between Screamin' Jay Hawkins and the Cramps. The Mississippi Mudsharks, formed in 1992, was named "Blues Band of the Year" at the San Diego Music Awards 3x, and had three chart topping CD's on CrossCut Records Blues Charts (Europe) in the '90's. After a six year hiatus starting in 2000, the band came back with a vengence. The New CD, "Train Rolls On" (Double Barrel Records) and European Tour were a hit with audiences and critics. How the Grinch Stole the Election

How the Grinch Stole the Election

Author: From the show Politically Incorrect, this was the monologue presented by Bill Maher on November 2000.

its old now but still funny !!!!

And I'd like to read it to you now, shall we? "Every Jew down in Jewville liked elections a lot. But the Grinch, who lived over in Austin, did not."

"'I know they'll be voting for Gore,' he was thinking. 'By Wednesday, the latest, I'll be back to my drinking.'"

"Election day came, and the voting was close. At one point the Grinch even started to boast. 'It's a Grinch by the nose,' all the newsmen explained. Even Dan Rather, who was clearly insane."

"But, was he the winner? Hey, not so fast. Al Gore called him up and said, 'Grinch, kiss my ass.'"

"The race was too, too tight to say who was elected. The Grinch was so stressed his face got infected."

"All eyes turned to Jewville to sort out the mess, but Hymen and Herschel and dear old Aunt Bess, were too senile to vote for the one they liked. They poked the wrong hole and joined the Third Reich."

"The Jews down in Jewville took to the streets to complain about fraud, not to mention the heat."

"The Grinch said something that couldn't be gaucher. 'This election, my friends, is perfectly kosher.' Then a judge ruled each vote must be counted by hand. The Grinch said, 'that's not what my brother Jeb had planned.'"

"His lawyers filed motions, injunctions and writs, demanding that Gore and the Jews call it quits. he met Cindy Lou Lipcious, aged 92."

"'Why,' she cried, 'did you steal our election?' he just laughed and gave her a lethal injection."

"They say the Grinch's ego grew three sizes that day. Unfortunately his brain went the opposite way."

"So here's a lesson for now and for later, don't blame me, I voted for Nader."

Slim Harpo: the most under rated blues master

Slim Harpo

Slim Harpo Excello Records

Slim Harpo (11 January 192431 January 1970) was a blues musician.

Born James Moore in Lobdel, Louisiana, the eldest in an orphaned family, Moore worked as a longshoreman and building worker during the late 1930s and early 1940s. One of the foremost proponents of post-war rural blues, he began performing in Baton Rouge bars under the name Harmonica Slim. He later accompanied Lightnin' Slim, his brother-in-law, both live and in the studio, before commencing his own recording career in 1957. Named Slim Harpo by producer Jay Miller, the artist's solo debut coupled "I'm A King Bee" with "I Got Love If You Want It". Influenced by Jimmy Reed, he began recording for Excello Records and enjoyed a string of popular R&B singles which combined a drawling vocal with incisive harmonica passages. Among them were "Rainin' In My Heart" (1961), "I Love The Life I Live", "Buzzin'" (instrumental) and "Little Queen Bee" (1964). On these hits he was accompanied by understated electric backing from the regular stable of Excello musicians — including Lazy Lester, whom Harpo influenced.

The singer was known as one of the masters of the blues harmonica; the name "Slim Harpo" was a humorous takeoff on "slim harp," the popular nickname for the harmonica in blues circles.

Harpo was the point man of the 1950s Louisiana Swamp/Blues movement. Harpo, along with Lightning Slim, Lazy Lester, Lonesome Sundown, and a dozen other downhome artists, recorded for A&R man J.D. Miller in Crowley, Louisiana. The records were then issued on the Excello label, based in Nashville.

Harpo's relaxed, almost lazy, performances set the tone for his subsequent work. His warm, languid voice enhanced the sexual metaphor of "I'm A King Bee", which was later recorded by the Rolling Stones. The same group also covered the pulsating "Shake Your Hips", which Harpo first issued in 1966, while the Pretty Things, the Yardbirds and Them featured versions of his songs in their early repertoires. Later, the riff from Harpo's hit "Shake Your Hips" was used in the ZZ Top hit "La Grange," and the Rolling Stones covered the song on their 1972 album, Exile On Main Street. Harpo enjoyed a notable US Top 20 pop hit in 1966 with "Baby Scratch My Back" (also a number 1 R&B hit), which revitalized his career. Never a full-time musician, Harpo had his own trucking business during the 1960s, although he was a popular figure in the late 1960s blues revival, with appearances at several renowned venues including the Electric Circus and the Fillmore East. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack on 31 January 1970 at the age of 46, and was buried in Mulatto Bend Cemetery in Port Allen, Louisiana.
