Thailand rejects US military offer to help end south unrest

Thailand rejected on Friday a US offer of military assistance to help quell an insurgency in the country’s Muslim-majority south, saying the unrest was an internal matter. The United States, a close ally of Thailand, has reportedly offered to help the kingdom rein in the unrest, which has killed more than 2,100 people since January 2004.
How can they pass an offer like that??? LOL we all saw how good of a job the Yanks have done at stopping violence in Iraq, and other places ... like their own universities, high school and neigborhoods!!!!!!!!

How the Grinch Stole the Election
How the Grinch Stole the Election
Author: From the show Politically Incorrect, this was the monologue presented by Bill Maher on November 2000.
its old now but still funny !!!!
And I'd like to read it to you now, shall we? "Every Jew down in Jewville liked elections a lot. But the Grinch, who lived over in Austin, did not."
"'I know they'll be voting for Gore,' he was thinking. 'By Wednesday, the latest, I'll be back to my drinking.'"
"Election day came, and the voting was close. At one point the Grinch even started to boast. 'It's a Grinch by the nose,' all the newsmen explained. Even Dan Rather, who was clearly insane."
"But, was he the winner? Hey, not so fast. Al Gore called him up and said, 'Grinch, kiss my ass.'"
"The race was too, too tight to say who was elected. The Grinch was so stressed his face got infected."
"All eyes turned to Jewville to sort out the mess, but Hymen and Herschel and dear old Aunt Bess, were too senile to vote for the one they liked. They poked the wrong hole and joined the Third Reich."
"The Jews down in Jewville took to the streets to complain about fraud, not to mention the heat."
"The Grinch said something that couldn't be gaucher. 'This election, my friends, is perfectly kosher.' Then a judge ruled each vote must be counted by hand. The Grinch said, 'that's not what my brother Jeb had planned.'"
"His lawyers filed motions, injunctions and writs,
demanding that Gore and the Jews call it quits.
"'Why,' she cried, 'did you steal our election?' he just laughed and gave her a lethal injection."
"They say the Grinch's ego grew three sizes that day. Unfortunately his brain went the opposite way."
"So here's a lesson for now and for later, don't blame me, I voted for Nader."
Slim Harpo: the most under rated blues master
Slim Harpo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Slim Harpo (11 January 1924 – 31 January 1970) was a blues musician.
Born James Moore in Lobdel, Louisiana, the eldest in an orphaned family, Moore worked as a longshoreman and building worker during the late 1930s and early 1940s. One of the foremost proponents of post-war rural blues, he began performing in Baton Rouge bars under the name Harmonica Slim. He later accompanied Lightnin' Slim, his brother-in-law, both live and in the studio, before commencing his own recording career in 1957. Named Slim Harpo by producer Jay Miller, the artist's solo debut coupled "I'm A King Bee" with "I Got Love If You Want It". Influenced by Jimmy Reed, he began recording for Excello Records and enjoyed a string of popular R&B singles which combined a drawling vocal with incisive harmonica passages. Among them were "Rainin' In My Heart" (1961), "I Love The Life I Live", "Buzzin'" (instrumental) and "Little Queen Bee" (1964). On these hits he was accompanied by understated electric backing from the regular stable of Excello musicians — including Lazy Lester, whom Harpo influenced.
The singer was known as one of the masters of the blues harmonica; the name "Slim Harpo" was a humorous takeoff on "slim harp," the popular nickname for the harmonica in blues circles.
Harpo was the point man of the 1950s Louisiana Swamp/Blues movement. Harpo, along with Lightning Slim, Lazy Lester, Lonesome Sundown, and a dozen other downhome artists, recorded for A&R man J.D. Miller in Crowley, Louisiana. The records were then issued on the Excello label, based in Nashville.
Harpo's relaxed, almost lazy, performances set the tone for his subsequent work. His warm, languid voice enhanced the sexual metaphor of "I'm A King Bee", which was later recorded by the Rolling Stones. The same group also covered the pulsating "Shake Your Hips", which Harpo first issued in 1966, while the Pretty Things, the Yardbirds and Them featured versions of his songs in their early repertoires. Later, the riff from Harpo's hit "Shake Your Hips" was used in the ZZ Top hit "La Grange," and the Rolling Stones covered the song on their 1972 album, Exile On Main Street. Harpo enjoyed a notable US Top 20 pop hit in 1966 with "Baby Scratch My Back" (also a number 1 R&B hit), which revitalized his career. Never a full-time musician, Harpo had his own trucking business during the 1960s, although he was a popular figure in the late 1960s blues revival, with appearances at several renowned venues including the Electric Circus and the Fillmore East. He died unexpectedly of a heart attack on 31 January 1970 at the age of 46, and was buried in Mulatto Bend Cemetery in Port Allen, Louisiana.
